Earth Day 2008

Part of my Earth Day 2008 was spent at a grade seven class Thunderbird Elementary in East Vancouver. We discussed green living choices and had a small quiz about every day decisions that can reduce our ecological footprint.

After participating in a "fish bowl" discussion with Dr. Bill Rees a few days earlier and hearing the latest challenging news on the rapid advancement of climate change it was heart warming to see that the young students in East Vancouver are more enlightened on environmental issues than any generation before them. They knew all about recycling, composting, walking / biking / taking transit and not driving. They were excited to visit their local farmers markets and excited to hear about solar and wind power options that we have today.

Happy earth day and to living more with less.

Sustainably yours,
Damian
